About Us

I am Don Morgan; Owner & Roaster.

LinkedIn claims that I'm CPA (Charter Professional Accountant) with almost 25 years developing some of the finest power plants (hydro, wind & gas) ever built in western Canada. I'm pretty proud of those achievements. 

My interest and expertise in coffee has been growing ever since university. First a customer, then a home barista and now a micro-roaster.

This roasting adventure began in the Fall of 2019 with a 5,000 km tour meeting with roasters and roasting manufacturers. From Sandpoint to San Francisco to Seattle with stops in cool coffee hot spots along the way. Visiting manufacturers, taking roasting classes, attending trade shows, cupping coffees (thoughtfully/critically tasting coffees) and lingering in some of the best coffee shops in the USA (perhaps the world) filled the days. 

Upon returning, research complete and a solid base of understanding built, a coffee roaster was bought and roasts began in the home micro-roastery. 

Who "We" are is a misnomer. Saying "I" just feels so, well….lonely. But sometimes my wife and teens, sweep, weigh, sticker or just drop in and chat while I roast.  But honestly we are more "wee" tiny than "we" collective. Regardless I am going with "we" because sometimes it is true and it just feels great to have others along on the journey. 

We roast high quality coffee in micro-batches in our home based roastery. For customers that live nearby we personally deliver to their doorstep.

Maybe someday we grow, become a coffee empire & rub shoulders with the Mugatus of the coffee world but for now roasting coffee for family, friends, and a few others that serendipitously find us on the web feels like the sweet spot.

 "The best for the most." It's that simple. Really good coffee, thoughtfully sourced and expertly roasted. Sure we like the coffee-vibe of the upwardly mobile but really our coffee is best enjoyed by anybody who wants to enjoy better than most, delicious coffee.

Our coffee roasting philosophy is to balance fruity and floral flavours with sweet & chocolate flavours. But really, the sweet and chocolate flavours are our favourite. A little adventurous but mostly just tried and true deliciousness.

We are very fortunate to roast coffee in about the most inspiring setting. Just outside the roastery window is a backyard garden oasis, just down the street is River Park and the neighbourhood is bustling with great people enjoying it all.
